1.1 EyeNewz (“EyeNewz”, “We”, “Our”, “Us”) is committed to protecting information that personally identifies you (“Personal Information”). By using the EyeNewz mobile application (“App”), you consent to the collection, storage, and handling of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1.2 This Privacy Policy applies to all users who access the App. Please read it carefully before using the App or submitting any Personal Information.
1.3 We take your privacy seriously and are committed to safeguarding your information while providing a useful, personalized news experience.
1.4 Access to the App is conditional on your acceptance of this Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions. Together they form our agreement with you regarding your use of the App.
2. Information Collected
2.1 Traffic Data
When you use the App, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- IP addresses and network information;
- Device type, operating system, and app version;
- Interaction data with the App (such as feed requests, article views, and search queries); and
- Crash and performance diagnostics (on release builds).
2.2 Personal Information
EyeNewz does not require an account to use the App in V1. If you choose to sign in with Google, we may receive:
- Your name, email address, and profile photo (as provided by Google);
- A unique account identifier for syncing preferences across devices; and
- Contact details you voluntarily provide when you email us.
We do not collect your phone number unless you provide it when contacting us.
2.3 Data Stored on Your Device
- Cached article headlines, summaries, images, and metadata (for offline reading);
- Your preferences: hidden categories, blocked publishers/keywords, saved articles, and text size settings.
2.4 Third-Party Links
The App contains links to third-party publisher websites. When you tap “Open original source,” you leave EyeNewz and are subject to that website’s privacy practices. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party privacy policies.
3. Usage of Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and news feed;
- Personalize your experience (categories, blocked sources, saved articles);
- Sync settings if you sign in with Google;
- Diagnose crashes and fix technical issues (Firebase Crashlytics on release builds);
- Respond to your support, legal, or grievance requests; and
- Comply with applicable laws and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your Personal Information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising targeting in V1.
4. Disclosure of Information
4.1 We do not rent or sell user information to third parties.
4.2 We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the App (such as cloud hosting, Firebase/Google for authentication and crash reporting), subject to confidentiality obligations.
4.3 We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of EyeNewz, our users, or the public.
4.4 In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the successor entity with the same privacy protections described here.
5. Security
5.1 We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect Personal Information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
5.2 No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5.3 If you believe your account or data has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@eyenewz.com.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
6.1 Local app data is stored on your device until you clear app storage or uninstall the App.
6.2 Server-side data linked to your Google account (if you sign in) is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion by emailing support@eyenewz.com with the subject “Delete account” and your registered email address. See our Contact Us page.
6.3 Anonymous crash logs may be retained by Firebase for a limited period per Google’s policies.
7. Your Rights
You may:
- Review and correct Personal Information we hold about you by contacting us;
- Request deletion of your account and associated data;
- Withdraw consent for optional features (such as Google Sign-In) by signing out or uninstalling the App; and
- Lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority where applicable.

8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
