The concept of a sleep score is "completely made up", says Dr Alanna Hare, consultant of sleep medicine at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. The things you're doing to make your sleep better could actually be making your sleep worse.
Why it matters. An obsession with achieving perfect sleep through tracking devices can lead to a clinical condition known as orthosomnia.
