Poor cellular service irks Nagranar villagers in Kupwara

Handwara, Aug, 29: Residents of Nagranar village in Rajwar area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district have accused private telecom operators Jio and Airtel of providing poor mobile connectivity, saying the problem has persisted for years. "We can barely make a phone call from our village," a resident told Greater Kashmir . "The network remains weak most of the time." Residents said the situation becomes worse during emergencies. "We have to walk outside the village just to get a signal and make a call," another villager said. They demanded that a mobile tower be installed in the locality to improve voice and internet services. Students said poor internet connectivity has affected their education. "We are unable to attend online classes because the internet hardly works," a student said. The villagers urged Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Balasaheb and other concerned officials to intervene and resolve the issue at the earliest.
