Tricolour flies high across J&K as I-Day passes off peacefully
Srinagar, Aug 15: The tricolour flew high across Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday as Independence Day celebrations were held with patriotic fervour and passed off peacefully, with no untoward incident reported from anywhere. The main Independence Day function was held at Srinagar amid elaborate security arrangements, where Chief Minister Omar Abdullah hoisted the national flag and took the salute of the ceremonial parade, marking the occasion amid tight security and a festive atmosphere.
