Japan Credit Rating Agency has lifted the country’s sovereign rating from BBB+ to A-, with a stable outlook. JCR cited growth of around seven percent, strong private consumption, public investment, better fiscal quality, healthier banks, digital public infrastructure, GST reforms and ample foreign exchange reserves. But this is not a free pass. The agency also flagged high public debt, state finances and dependence on government spending.
