Independence Day 2026: 18 Life Convicts Released From Jabalpur Central Jail Under Remission Policy
Eighteen life convicts, including 17 men and one woman, were released from Jabalpur Central Jail on Independence Day under Madhya Pradesh’s remission policy. All had completed 14 years in prison and received a six-year remission. The released inmates said they wanted to begin new lives, work honestly and stay away from conflicts while using skills learned in jail.
