Agiro is restoring a former 1.8-hectare construction waste disposal site at the foot of Mont-Brillant in Quebec Citys Saint-Charles River watershed. The project combines soil regeneration, native planting, habitat creation, invasive species management and community participation to support ecological recovery. A total of 580 trees and shrubs representing 24 species have been planted, alongside perennial seeding. A community bioblitz identified more than 160 plant species, nine amphibian species and nearly 50 bird species. The project also created ten habitat islands, added wildlife shelters and introduced measures to control invasive plants.
